Microsoft Outlook creates an Outlook data file that stores almost everything which includes email messages, contacts, calendars, tasks, notes, journals, and much more including the attachments. The Outlook data file is commonly known as PST or personal storage table. An Outlook user can have one, two or multiple PST files. There’s no such restriction for creating and/or adding PST files to Outlook clients.

When and why is it needed to add PST file?

There might be any reason for adding PST files to the Outlook profile. For e.g., if you’ve switched to a new organization, you have to add the old PST file to your new Outlook profile in order to access your old mailbox content. Or, if you’ve changed your computer system, again you need to add the old PST file in order to access your mailbox content. Apart from these two, there could be numerous other reasons due to which you need to add the PST file to the Outlook profile.

Step 2: Click the Account Settings tab and select Account Settings… in the options.

Step 3: On the Account Settings dialog box, click the Data Files tab.

Step 4: You can see the Add… button on the taskbar. Click it to add a new PST file to your Outlook profile.

Step 5: Browse the location where your PST files are stored. Select one PST file at a time, and click OK to add PST file to Outlook.

For other PST files follow the same steps to add/import old PST file back into Outlook.

This time, you can use another option of MS Outlook client.

There’s one more thing you can try here. You can simply use the Import feature of MS Outlook client to add PST file to your Outlook profile.
